Current Happenings
I hadn't realized it had been so long since I finished a book. For some reason I'm having trouble getting into a one. I may need to go to the library and see if I can find one there.
But! Even though I haven't FINISHED a book, I have been reading a few. I'm currently about 60 pages into The Tightwad gazette (averaging about 4 pages a day @_@), and 47 in Sophie's World. I've also been peeking into Lily Dale: The True Story of the Town That Talks to the Dead, The Letter, the Witch, and the Ring, and Gone Tomorrow: The Hidden Life of Garbage.
Gone Tomorrow is pretty boring, actually, but I'm hoping it'll pick up soon. I'm only on page 15, after all.
Speaking of boring books, right after I finished The Freeway I started reading Walkabout. I hate almost everything about it-- the bland, too-perfect characters, the plot, the writing style. Hopefully I can foist it off on someone else. (I was thinking about keeping it around in case I became especially bored, but remembering why I stopped reading it in the first place makes me want to get rid of it ASAP.)
If anyone's reading this and has suggestions, go ahead and give 'em to me. I had a list of around 70 books I want to read, but I lost it somewhere in my room. So I'm up for recs. I'd especially love any good travel narratives.
